Cabinet Maker

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Cabinet Maker is responsible for crafting and assembling cabinets to meet design plans and project deadlines. The position focuses on producing high-quality, precisely constructed cabinetry that meets client expectations and design plans.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and execute jobs as requested.
  • Ability to operate cutting and joining tools and machines.
  • Assembly of cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified.
  • Be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with supervisors and site staff.
  • Focused on safe working practices.
  • Ability to work productively with team members and on your own.
  • Good knowledge of different surfaces and adhesives.
  • Reviewing drawings and choosing appropriate materials, such as the correct type of timber, veneer, or synthetic board.
  • Cutting and joining as required to make parts according to the plans.
  • Making cabinetry and furniture pieces according to specifications, including hinges, locks, and handles.
  • Conduct thorough quality control checks, ensuring adherence to established standards and specifications.
  • Site measures and installation of cabinetry as per plans as required.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Note: This role does not involve disciplinary actions.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or similar role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans.
  • Strong knowledge of cabinetry techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Dedication to maintaining a safe and organised work environment.
  • Experience providing training and guidance to apprentices is a plus.
